Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student has knowledge about hydro technical terrestrial buildings; knows the basic technical, environmental and economic conditions of hydro technical terrestrial buildings location and general knowledge of the problems connected with their implementation; he knows types of water damming constructions and their work, design and construction, places of potential risks; he can evaluate the dam or shaft base; can estimate soil to build individual elements. Skills: Student can design hydro technical terrestrial buildings; knows how to calculate filtration through the substrate and dam corps; knows how to assess the stability of the construction; he can assess the physical and mechanical properties of soil for possibility of their incorporation into the various elements of the building; he can determine the class of the various hydraulic structures; can design necessary seal and strengthening; knows the principles of drainage design and can properly deploy control and measurement devices.

Prerequisites: Hydrogeology, Soil mechanics

Course content: Types of damming constructions, principles of location and working, principles of design and execution, potential risks places. Dam or shaft substrate rating. Soil to build individual elements. Construction security state. Filtration and stability calculating methods.
