Learning outcomes: Knowlage: Student knows and describes the most important areas and reasons for appearing of areas polluted with organic substances. Student knows principles of evaluation of the state of the decline of the soil polluted with organic substances and natural, technical and legal conditioning of the reclamation of such areas; he exchanges and describes determining factors about choice of direction of developing. Studentknows basic methods of rehabilitations of the soil polluted with organic substances. Student knows the basic specialist terminology in English concerning the most important methods of the rehabilitation of the soil polluted with organic substances. Abilities: Students interprets and is assesses the state of the soil pollution with organic substances; assesses the need for the rehabilitation based on details about the polluted object, including appropriate provisions of the law; selects the method of rehabilitations for the soil polluted with organic substances and drafts the project of the rehabilitation. Students shows performed project and in discussion is justifying the legitimacy of suggested solutions.

Competences: Competences: An awareness of social validities has effects of activities in the rehabilitation of the soil polluted with organic substances as well as the environmental impact, as well as liabilities for made decisions. Student uses rational arguments for principles of the environmental protection. Correctly identifies and settles dilemmas associated with choice about directions and methods of the reclamation of degraded areas. Student is able to work individually and in the team. Student is able to think and to act in the creative way

Prerequisites: soil science, bases of the cultivation of plants, bases of the forest management, soil protection and reclamation of degraded soils (basic course)

Course content: Progress and deepening of the knowledge about physics, chemical and biological methods of the reclamation of degraded areas. Methods in-situ and ex-situ of removing organic pollutants from the soil. Using biological methods in the revitalization of ground polluted with petroleum-derived substances.
