Learning outcomes: Student knows the basic principles of shaping the composition at different spatial context Student knows the basic methods and techniques of studies and analysis of relevant to the establishment of guidelines to the design of landscapes and landscape architecture objects Student has a detailed knowledge of trends development in the field of landscape architecture and some related fields Skills Defines the design guidelines based on the conclusions of the analysis Apply the basic principles of design of landscapes and landscape architecture objects of different functions Draw up a simplified design documentation in accordance with the formal requirements and presents it in the form of drawings and descriptive form.
Competences: Student understands, in the basic range, landscape architecture in the context of ideological, cultural, material and social conditions, Student is able to determine the priorities in formulating questions and clarify the solutions to common design tasks Student is able to work efficiently in a group while carrying out the tasks of the project
Prerequisites: Design of Landscape Architecture Objects I, II, III; Computer-Aided Design
Course content: The subject concerns the design of contemporary public green spaces, including parks, squares and local utilities. The scope of the lectures include topics related to the design of public greenery (their form, function, design trends, design principles and laws). Workshops concern elaboration of the concept of development of the green area supported by researches and analyzes. Within the course there are presented different types of urban green areas, their functions, their program and equipment. There are the modern design trends discussed, with reference to historical changes. The attention is paid to functional and spatial arrangements, as well as the equipment of public green areas, types of paving, landscaping elements. There are presented rules of cataloguing, studies, pre-design analysis and design principles as well as legal acts concerning the design of green areas.
