The course in English will be available if a minimum of 6 students sign up for a group. If less than 6 students sign up for the group, the course will be available in Polish with the possibility of individual support in English.

Learning outcomes: The student has a basic knowledge in the field of physics, optics including the knowledge necessary to understand the basic physical phenomena occurring in photogrammetric measurement systems The student knows what is photogrammetry and remote sensing; He knows how to determine the position of a point on the Earth's surface and on the measurement photos; he knows the instruments, techniques and photogrammetric measurement methods and presentation on the maps of terrain surface with the objects on it situated; He has knowledge of photogrammetric measurements, mathematical elaboration of measurements results and the creation of large-scale maps The student knows the theoretical foundations of photogrammetry and remote sensing and knows basic methods, techniques and photogrammetric instruments used for solving simple engineering tasks Skills Students can use their knowledge in physics during the measurement of physical quantities and during the use of the apparatus and measuring instruments The student is able to plan and carry out photogrammetric measurements and perform the necessary analytical studies; He has practical skills related to the use of remote methods of collecting spatial data The student has a practical basis for individual and team work in real conditions for surveying work in firms and geodetic administration; He knows the basic safety rules of such activities; able to assess the usefulness of routine methods and instruments to solve survey tasks of a practical nature, and to select and apply appropriate method and measuring equipment;

Competences: The student is able to cooperate and work in a group, taking on different roles The student is able to properly identify priorities for implementation specified by yourself or other tasks The student is able to think and act in a creative and enterprising

Prerequisites: surveying, adjustment theory, geometry (particular knowledge of the central projection)

Course content: Student acquires the basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills associated with photogrammetric methods of metric images measuring. Student knows the applicability of remote sensing methods for spatial data obtaining. After completing the course the student has basic skills in the use of modern methods of aerial and satellite images elaborating in order to produce maps. Definition of photogrammetry and remote sensing. Taking photogrammetric aerial and terrestrial photos. The project photogrammetric flight plan. Photos observation and measurement photogrammetric methods. Fundamentals of analytical and analog elaborating of stereogram. Photogrammetric technologies. Orthophotomap. Fundamentals of digital photogrammetry. Physical fundamentals of remote sensing. Depending on the energy in the system: Sun - object - recording device. Absorption Bands and Atmospheric Windows. The spectral characteristics of ground objects. Methods of image registration.
