Learning outcomes: After cource completion In area of knowledge 1. The student has a general knowledge of mathematics and elementary statistics. In area of skills 1. The student has the ability to find, understand, analyze and use the information from breeding documentation. 2. The student applies basic computer technologies used in the acquisition and processing of information in the field of livestock production. 3. The student performs under the guidance of a tutor simple research tasks or projects related to agriculture, interprets the results and draws conclusions.

Competences: 1. The student is aware of the need for self-education in animal breeding.

Prerequisites: -

Course content: Data bases, the SAS package, major gene detection, conventional and genomic breeding value prediction.
