Learning outcomes: Knowledge: The student knows the kinds and types of experiments on animals and the rules governing them. Presents advanced knowledge on the methods of mathematical statistics used in research zootechnical; knows the general methodological assumptions of experimental research, with particular emphasis on experimentation zootechnical, including rules on research planning and selection for their animals and the planning, organization and supervision over the course of the experiment. Distinguishes and characterizes errors experience; can use of tools and statistical packages allow to analyse experimental results. Skills: Student has the ability to plan and carry out experiments; applies apropriatly techniques to collect, organize and collect data and interpret the results of studies; shall take the necessary research and interpretation tools; uses databases and literature.

Competences: Student is aware of the importance of appropriate use of test methods on animals; is able to work independently and in a team in the implementation of specific research task.

Prerequisites: -

Course content: General methodology of experiments; methodology of the observation-based husbandry investigations; the rules of the carrying, modeling, organization and advisory of the experiments; selection of animals to the experiments considering their productivity and behavior; statistical evaluation; interpretation of the result;. the rules of merits and editorial elaboration of results and organization and founding of scientific activity in Poland; ethics of scientific experiments, substantial of copyrights as well as the skill of merits elaboration of common-scientific articles.

Assessment methods: Passing classes: credit systematic tasks in exercises, written tests to assess at the end of the thematic groups. The presence at exercises is obligatory; student can have only one unexcused absence. In the absence excused student is required to pass the relevant part of the material. Passing classes based on the average ratings. Completion of the course: student holding credit exercises enters into a written exam (5 open questions out of 150) in the examination session. If the exam is not counted in the first term student has the right to re-sit orally or in writing in the second period
