The course in English will be available if a minimum of 6 students sign up for a group. If less than 6 students sign up for the group, the course will be available in Polish with the possibility of individual support in English.

Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student knows the fundamental concepts and basic physicochemical principles that able him to study and understand biological systems. Skills: Student is able to solve some physicochemical problems and use the basic methods of instrumental analysis for investigating biological systems.

Competences: Social skills (attitude): Student shows responsibility for equipments and ability to teamwork.

Prerequisites: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry

Course content: The laws of thermodynamics, entropy, chemical potential, thermochemistry, activity coefficients, Raoult’s law, osmotic pressure, the phase rule, electrolyte solutions, electrochemical cells, chemical kinetics.

Assessment methods: Completion of laboratory training, written exam.
