Learning outcomes: The subject is the first level of education, which prepare the student to continue further education in subject of Elements of detailed laboratory analytics

Competences: After finishing the course student will possess basic skills of the work in the laboratory, student knows denouement from the range of health and safety in lab, hazards during the work with biological material, can collect and work with the research material, has a knowledge about research methods and techniques used in laboratories, about how to deal with different type of biological material ship to the laboratory, and has a knowledge how to handling laboratory devices.

Prerequisites: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Physiology.

Course content: Health and safety in the laboratory, collecting and working with probes to the analysis, analytic errors, basic methods (classic and instrumental) and techniques used in laboratory analytics, notion of norm and reference value and basis of the electron microscopy.

Assessment methods: terminal mark is based on the laboratory reports and in-term continuous assessment from particular thematic blocks.
