Learning outcomes: Student in the time of the course purchases theoretical knowledge in the wide area of contemporary molecular biology aspects: pro- and eukaryotic genomes anatomy and organization, molecular evolution, molecular phylogenetics, cell and genetic engineering, animals and plants transgenization, reproductive and therapeutical cloning, gene therapy, knows the basis of recombinant DNA technology (DNA cloning with different vectors, constructing cDNA and DNA libraries, recombinant protein production, analysis nucleic acids in complex mixture). The course provides some practical training in basic laboratory procedures used in molecular biology laboratory. Student recognize practical skills within basic molecular techniques: DNA isolation from blood and tissues, PCR, agarose and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, PCR-RFLP analysis, genes sequencing, RFLP and sequencing data filling system, RFPL and sequencing data analysis.

Competences: Completion of the course makes possible to work in molecular biology laboratory and to lead research about genomics, molecular phylogenetics and molecular evolution.

Prerequisites: general and organic chemistry, biophysics, biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, microbiology

Course content: Genomics, molecular philogenetics, molecular evolution, trangenization and cloning technics, genotherapy, essential technics of isolation and analysis used in recombinant DNA technology.
