Learning outcomes: The student knows the principles for the assessment of natural hazards in the environment; The student knows warning systems against extreme phenomena occurring in the environment; the student has knowledge on collecting, identifying and selecting information about the risks; Skills The student can apply the assessment methods of any natural hazard occurring in the environment; The student can find the relevant data to solve the problem which is the subject of the analysis;

Competences: The student is aware of the responsibility for the environment and protection;

Prerequisites: mathematics, physics, hazards monitoring and modeling

Course content: Natural disasters occurring in the atmospheric, soil and water environment. Assessment of their occurrence, the possibility of limiting their consequences. Methods for classification of accidents, catastrophes and natural disasters. The formation of a natural disasters. Disasters and hazards in the atmospheric environment. Disasters and hazards in the soil environment. Disasters and hazards that may exist in the water environment. Other risks having a mass character. Phases and the basis of natural disasters modeling. Methods for assessing the risks in the atmospheric, soil and water environment. Legal regulations of possibilities to limit the effects of natural disasters.
