Learning outcomes: Knowledge knows the basic theories of molecular evolution and understand their relationship to the process of transferring genetic information [BI_W04, BI_W11, BI_W17]; is able to define the concepts related to the genetic population genetics and molecular ecology [BI_W04, BI_W15, BI_W17]; formulates hypotheses about the effects of various environmental factors on genetic structure of populations [BI_W04, BI_W11, BI_W14, BI_W15, BI_W17]; differentiates between factors affecting the occurrence of specific genes in the population and the preferences of their transmission [BI_W04, BI_W13, BI_W14, BI_W15, BI_W17]; can characterize the elements that affect gene flow between populations [BI_W04, BI_W13, BI_W14, BI_W15, BI_W17]. Skills knows how to use the selected databases of molecular markers and apply the appropriate markers in the different types of analyzes [BI_U01, BI_U09]; can choose the appropriate methods for estimating population parameters and to analyze and interpret the results [BI_U01, BI_U09]; is able to develop a simple research projects on the analysis of population genetic structure and estimating gene flow between populations [BI_U01, BI_U09].
