Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student: W1 –will acquire the theoretical knowledge of biology and systematics of fish as well as the knowledge of selected problems concerning the fish evolution and ecology[KB_W06, K_BW08, KB_W12]; W2 – describes the external and internal morphology of native species of freshwater fishes[KB_W06, KB_W08]; W3 – knows the methods of collecting, preservation and storing freshwater fishes[KB_W02]; W4 – known methods for determining the species composition of fish fauna and its density and biomass [KB_W15]. Skills Student: U1 – operates the light– and stereomicroscopes; safely deals with the preserved material [KB_U06, KB_U12]; U2 – can select the adequate study techniques (methods of collecting, preservation, storing, and identification) applied in relation to various species of freshwater fishes[KB_U12]; U3 –identifies the representatives of Polish species of freshwater fish [KB_U07, KB_U10].

Competences: Personal and social competences (attitudes and behaviors): Student: K1 – understands the increasing complexity of animal architecture, being in concordance with the evolutionary process [KB_K01, KB_K04]; K2– is aware of the collective responsibility for fulfilling the tasks assigned to the team [KB_K02]; K3 – takes care for the equipment he/she was entrusted with; takes responsibility for animal safety and protection [KB_K08].
