Learning outcomes: Knowledge: student has extended knowledge of environmental requirements associated and free-living animals;student has a general knowledge of assessing the suitability of companion animals for breeding;student has detailed knowledge relating to the protection of animal health and prevention of disease etiology; student has basic knowledge of sustainable use and protection of the diversity of animal species; student has the knowledge about the impact of livestock on the environment and potential hazards. Skills: student has the ability to find, understand, analyze and use the information you need from breeding documentation; student be able to assess the state of the environment and the health of farmed animals; student be able to identify the threat to animal health and to find the right methods to improve; student has the ability to take care of sick animals in the recovery period, the neonatal period, as well as the animals older; student has the ability to plan and organize the transport of animals.

Competences: Student can responsibly relate to animals; student is able to take responsibility for the safety and protection of farmed animals and the environment; student is able to prioritize appropriately designed to achieve a particular purpose and task of companion animals.

Prerequisites: -

Course content: Prevention of immune diseases selected puppies and kittens, animal care during the neonatal older, the most common non-communicable diseases and infectious carnivores, rodents and lagomorphs, quality and racial predisposition to diseases, behavioral disorders, conditions for rearing and breeding of laboratory animals and exotic, basic diagnostic tests assessing suitability for cultivation, animal care patients, the principle of prevention of free-living animals in captive breeding conditions, rules on the movement of animals within the EU and third countries, transport of free-living animals.

Assessment methods: Assessement of classes: The presence in the exercises is mandatory, the student may have at least three unauthorized absences. There is a written test to check the knowledge, progress and student activity. Assessement of the course: the final exam (written test) with questions from classes and lectures. If student will fail the exam at the first time there is a possibility to re-take it (oral or written exam).
