Learning outcomes: Knowledge: The student knows the nutritional value of feed derived from organic farming methods and the ecological methods of preservation and grazing; has knowledge of balancing rations in the aspect of reducing the excretion of nitrogen and other components, and intestinal gases into the environment; knows how to use various additives in animal nutrition and knows the legal conditions of ecological feeding systems. Skills: The student actually selects the appropriate plant species to grow in organic systems and can used these plants in balancing rations for animals; demonstrates knowledge of assessment methods of preserved forages and can interpret the results of such an assessment in terms of suitability such feed in animal nutrition; can design and present feeding system using feed from organic farming.

Competences: The student is aware of the social consequences resulting from improper use of the technology of food production in organic systems; is able to identify the hazards associated with improper feeding of animals and the use of improperly preserved organically produced feed; is aware of the importance of social, professional and ethical responsibility for the consequences of incorrect use of technology, production and conservation of feed produced in ecological conditions and the use of defective feed in animal nutrition.

Prerequisites: -

Course content: Students learn the groups feed approved for use in organic systems of animal nutrition: is discussed specifics of the production of materials that can be considered organic - no use of chemical pesticides, rules for the application of organic plant and animal fertilizer and the role and the correct way of doing rotations. Particular attention was devoted to the role of legume plants to reduce nitrogen fertilization and improving the quality of positions for the plant follow-up. Discussed were rational methods of using ecological pastures: care and grazing system. In the block of the conservation student learn modern, friendly methods of ensiling forage that use biological methods - activating epiphytic microflora and / or support biological ensiling additives. Particular attention was paid to nutritional methods of reducing emissions of nitrogen and phosphorus in the way of precise balancing rations for various technological groups of cattle, poultry and pigs. In the case of ruminant animals has been discussed the significance of the possibility of synchronizing the energy supply and the carbon chains with available nitrogen in order to maximize microbial protein synthesis, and phosphorus in the range of activation of the native phytase improving the availability of the natural organic sources of this element. Also discusses the environmental, natural methods to improve the digestibility of nutrients and nutritional stimulation of the immune system capable of achieving comparable results of farming systems which assume the use of additives as growth promoters. The student learn also the laws on organic production, eg. the necessity of submission to the certification or the use of appropriate methods of fertilizing plants.

Assessment methods: ndividual complete of classes No. 1- 9, project (for 2-3 persons team) including classes No. 9-15 - project evaluation = the total score of the training course.
