Learning outcomes: Student knows basics of a programing language, has knowledge of creating and viewing graphical documentation using CAD software. Skills Student can use selected software to support designing including CAD software.

Competences: Able to work independently and in a team to work on the specific task.

Prerequisites: algebra, information technology, technical drawing and descriptive geometry

Course content: Introduction to programming language Python in order to perform basic engineering computations. Practical application of AutoCAD software to viewing, creating and modifying engineering drawings, designing in the field of environmental engineering, creating three dimensional models, making visualisations and printing. Concept of algorithm. Simple and structural instructions. Data types. Functions and procedures. Using Python language for computations, data format conversions and graphical presentation of results. Interaction of the program with application environment. Application of AutoCAD software to drafting of 2D drawings: units, coordinates, drawing limits, model space and paper space, vector objects, drawing with precision, creating and modifying objects, layers, styles, blocks, text, dimensioning, external references and plot drawing to scale. Modelling in three dimensional (3D) space: creating solid, surface and frame models, modifying 3D objects, creating cross sections and standard views, rendering and printing of 3D drawings.

Assessment methods: Tests on programing, written exam on CAD Skills Project on programing, practical tests on using CAD software The final score consist of score from classes (60%) and lecture (40%).
