Learning outcomes: Student can set up a GIS project with use of acquired data and can perform spatial analyses.
Competences: Completion of the course gives the bases to gain and update spatial data and use them in land surveying and cartography.
Prerequisites: Informatics
Course content: Basic notions from the Spatial Information Systems (SIS/GIS). SIS on the background of different informative systems. Components of SIS. The functional approach to SIS. Spatial databases - types, geometrical and attribute part. Methods of projecting and the exploitation of the databases. Visualization of the data. Maps and databases and Spatial Information Systems. Data models. Reality modelling. Spatial analyses. Decisions and the aims of using SIS/GIS.
