Learning outcomes: During the course student gains knowledge about role of soil in passing on the alimentary components of water and air in the process of plant growth in the conditions of the degradation of environment and his influence on fertility and the quality of crops . The student acquaints oneself with the procedure of the soil fertility valuation which help him to chose rational use of the soils of demoted terrains.

Competences: The completion of the course enable the work in the posts of the environment protection and institutions concerned with soil reclamation.

Prerequisites: Soil science, agricultural chemistry, environment degradation.

Course content: Soil richness, fertility and productivity. discribing the factors and the propries influencing the condition of soil fertility, the physical, chemical and biological degradation of soils - their influence on fertility and the quality of the crop. The culture of the soil. Methods of the valuation of the condition of the soil fertility . Utilization of wastes and unconventional fertilizers to the improvement of the soil fertility.
