Learning outcomes: After completing the course student is able to estimate of food processing plant to know water intake, treatment and waste treatment methods in food industry. Student has the knowledge about theoretical bases of thermal processes and will able to estimate energy utilization in plant. After completing the course student is able to make project of any technological process in food industry.

Competences: Student is able to estimate energy and steam utilization in plant and to make project of technological processes in food industry.

Prerequisites: engineering graphics, mathematics, physics, physical chemistry

Course content: Operations and unit processes used in food technology. The technological process. Technological principles. General principles of project documentation. Program of production and technological concept of the process. Mass and energy balances. Calculation and selection of machinery. Environmental impact assessment.
