Learning outcomes: The student after completion of the course should know the theory and principles of the city landscape shaping according to its location, the characteristics of the natural environment, cultural, social, technical and economic conditions...

Competences:

Prerequisites: Preceding subjects: completed study of first degree majoring in landscape architecture.

Course content:  Introduction, the functional structure of the city, examples.  The spatial structure of city, open, private, social and public spaces, the functional structure of the city, downtown, neighborhoods.  Technical Infrastructure of the city.  Protecting of the natural and cultural heritage of the city.  Principles of urban complexes forming.  Elements of urban composition, squares, markets, dominants, water.  Landscape urban setups.  Programming and design of green areas in the city.  Shaping of public spaces.  Principles and examples of the revitalization of historic urban areas.  Modernization of housing estates.  Landscape of urban peripheries.  Substantive administrative law within the range of urban design.  The landscape of small towns and villages included in the city.
