Learning outcomes: The student after completion of the course will acquire knowledge of the structure and care of landscape architecture objects using technical and material means. The course prepares student to evaluate the accuracy of the work related to the implementation (construction and maintenance) of landscape architecture objects.

Prerequisites: Preceding subjects: Vegetation, Construction and care of landscape architecture I.

Course content: Acquainting students with the tasks associated with construction and care of landscape architecture objects both in design and implementation aspects using the available technical and materials means. Overview of machinery and equipment used in the construction of landscape architecture objects- their exploitation. Basic tools used in the care work. Care reports inter alia. tree stand management projects, garden book. Tending of vegetation and open waters. Construction, development, protection and safeguarding of urban green areas, threats, legal and organizational measures. Investor supervision over the work undertaken in the construction and maintenance of landscape architecture objects. Tending of the garden forms. Care of trees (damage diagnosis of the crown, trunk, damage preventing around the roots and trunk). Cutting of trees and shrubs. Flexible bindings, head of the trees, mistletoe removal, and specialist dendrological documentations. Protection of plants against diseases and the occurrence of adverse animals, that harm them. Basic issues concerning the protection of plants against pests and diseases. Overview of pests found on green land, plant diseases and fertilizer shortages – diagnosis. Legal basis for use of plant protection products, use, packaging and marketing of plant protection products. The effects of irregular activities. Weed control, prevention of negative effects on growth and development of vegetation. Maintenance of road surfaces, landscape architecture objects, facilities and water facilities. Irrigation and drainage systems in landscape architecture. Overview of new solutions applied in the construction and care of landscape architecture objects.
