Learning outcomes: Student will posses the basic theoretical and practical knowledge allowing to recognize the different poultry species, their specifics and performances; will knew the rules of avian egg incubation; biology of bird embryo development and postnatal growth; ability of bird application in commercial poultry production, functional properties of eggs, slaughter value of broiler chicken.

Competences: After completing the course student will be able to work in hatcheries and farms concerned with keeping bird of different species.

Prerequisites: zoology, animal physiology, animal reproduction

Course content: Birds significance in nature and food production; external morphology and performances of birds; technology of egg incubation, embryo development and postnatal growth, biological analysis of egg incubation; nutritive and functional properties of hen eggs, evaluation of slaughter value of broiler chickens.
