Learning outcomes: Specificity of breeding and husbandry of beef cattle comparing to dairy one; extensive systems of maintenance; breeds: British, continental, „new introduced”, synthetic lines; mating in breed purity and crossing; conventional and ecological husbandry technologies; chosen issues of inventory buildings modernization; an assessment of breeding value (documentation, assessment, selection, choosing for reproduction). Basis of feeding, meadows and pastures utilization. Systems of beef cattle fattening.

Competences: An assessment of fattening and slaughter value; assessment and classification of carcass (EUROP). Economical effectiveness of production.

Prerequisites: Physiology, cattle breeding, feeding.

Course content: Husbandry specificity, maintenance systems, beef cattle breeds, technologies of husbandry in herds of cows mothers, reproduction, model and production cycle, assessment of breeding value (documentation, assessment, choosing for reproduction), basis of feeding, permanent grasslands utilization, an assessment of feeding and slaughter value.
