Learning outcomes: After the lecture students should know the rules of commodity analyses of non-food products of animal origin as well as further use of animal by-products.

Competences: The student is able to evaluate the quality of animal non-food products according to the legislation.

Prerequisites: Technology of Raw Animal Materials, General and Food Microbiology

Course content: Quality characteristics of collagen rich raw materials and animal blood, biopreparations production from blood, as well as non-food purpose gelatin technology, commodity analyses of technical and pharmaceuticals gelatins. Characteristics of inedible animal by-products designated to biopreparations production. Production technology and commodity analyses of eggs products used in pharmacy and feeding industry. Commodity analyses and further use of animal skin and fur.
