Learning outcomes: Acquirement of the basic knowledge about the phenomenon of religion and religiousness. The interest in religious diversity of a contemporary world on the basis of beliefs, cults and an organisation of religious life of some chosen religious movements on the grounds of empirical religious research.

Competences: Shaping of a well-disposed attitude of interest and tolerance towards the religious traditions in the world as well as towards the cultures that accompany these religions, the breaking down of hostility and biases towards the alien religions.

Prerequisites: The humanities within the secondary school curriculum.

Course content: Basic notions, developement and achievements of study of religions, the most interesting schools and study trends, methods of study of contemporary study of religions. Research into primaeval history of religion and of primary nations’ religions. The oldest religions of written word. Monotheism  Abraham-like religions. Peculiarity of Asian religions. Contemporary religion-forming processes.
