The course in English will be available if a minimum of 6 students sign up for a group. If less than 6 students sign up for the group, the course will be available in Polish with the possibility of individual support in English.

Learning outcomes: The students can analyse the condition of natural environment and assess natural resources. Moreover, they can assess the investment suitability of an area resulting from natural conditions. They can perform the function-space distribution as the onset for land management procedures in a commune.

Competences: The students are prepared to work in project and planning teams; they can assess the condition of environment for the needs of the studies on conditions and directions of land management in communes and local plans; they may be members of teams working on the protection of natural environment (Voivodship Office) as well as in special administration units.

Prerequisites: Principles of cartography and ecology; natural sciences and geography at lyceum level.

Course content: Identification of elements of environment (atmosphere, lithosphere, pedosphere and biosphere); the relations between various elements of environment; the influence of man on the condition of environment and the consequences of human activity (anthropopression); identification of the possibilities of using natural resources for the needs of economy; functioning of geo-ecosystems; natural structures of urbanised areas; spatial relations town – suburb – open landscape.
