Learning outcomes: After completing the course, the students should know the basics of valorisation and natural environment evaluation; know how to practically apply a selected method; interpret achieved results; practically perform certain planning activities, based on the knowledge acquired.
Competences:
Prerequisites: the environmental determinants of spatial development; real estate evaluation, economics
Course content: Typology of environmentally valuable areas (forests, forms of environmental protection, agricultural areas, spas, ecological margins, seepage spring areas, wetlands). Spas, ecological margins, seepage spring areas, wetlands. Areas of limited use. Landscape typology. Agricultural landscape. Valorisation – methodology, methodical basics. Valorisation – overview of methods; examples of research methodology. Point soil valuation method. Methods for the valorisation of rural landscapes: the Wejchert method – evaluation of landscape attractiveness; the Drzewiecki method – evaluation of environmental usability for agritourism. The valuation of landscape values (approaches used in the valuation of the elements of an environment, taxonomy, methodical rules and techniques). Natural form protection plans. Socio-economic development planning in environmentally valuable areas. The influence of socio-economic growth on environmental values (anthropogenic impact, micro and macro scale changes). Socio-economic development planning in environmentally valuable areas.
