Learning outcomes: The student acquires the knowledge and skills to understand the need to protect groundwater; political conditions and legal and economic in water protection and water management, environmental policies for the protection of waters. Moreover, the practical use of acquired knowledge on the issues of water protection and water management in the education and formation of ecological awareness and the creation of water protection programs at various levels of government.

Competences: Student after the course has the power to analyze the strategic documents and policies and to draw conclusions from them and use in different areas of life. Acquired skills, and knowledge in addition to the retraining courses and postgraduate studies can be used to create strategies, programs in other areas of environmental protection and public administration.

Prerequisites: hydrology, hydrobiology, surface water protection, environmental consulting, environmental policy, law, environmental management

Course content: Classes include issues of water protection in strategic documents, programs and policies. Is also discussed access to information on the aquatic environment, division of powers and the administration of water, and the responsibility to protect water and water management. Also sets out rules for water conservation programs and public participation in the creation of such documents.

Assessment methods: Course ends with exam. Count the item consists of a positive evaluation of the project or the protection of waters of the river water reservoir (50% of the final) and test the knowledge of the subjects to be discussed in class (50% of the final).

Comment: The course is carried out in the departure area in connection with the creation of water protection program, and meetings with representatives of the government making up such documents.
