Learning outcomes: After completing the course student will be familiar with the knowledge on the chemical composition of feeds and thweir energetic and proteinous value. After the course student should to know the factors affecting the nutritive and technological value of raw feed components, be able to evaluate the physic and technological properties, microbiological safety as well as the presence of antinutritive substances that decide about the use of these feeds in feed industry. Moreover student should know the rules of the use of particular raw materials in feed mixtures.
Competences: Student is ready to be employed in the feed industry, as an adviser of animal nutrition and as a teacher.
Prerequisites: Animal nutrition, physiology of animals
Course content: Characteristic of raw materials and compounds of commercial mixtures; energetic, proteinous and other compounds; The factors affected the quality of feeds, antinutritional substances and microbiological purity. Physical and technological properties of raw feeds and rules of their application.
