Learning outcomes: The knowledge on the kind and activity of feed additives applied in animal nutrition will be presented. Moreover, there the demands related to their use in feed concentrates and premixes as well as necessity of those for life, proper development, improvement of immunity and disease prevetion also will be presented. Student will to know the rules of long-lasting feeds storage and protection and the methods of feeds palatabilty improvement. Finally student will be informed about the conditions of animal keeping and protection of natural environment against harmful gases and unutilized nutrients emission.
Competences: Student could be employed in feed industry, in laboratories and in school.
Prerequisites: Animal physiology, chemistry, biochemistry, the substantials of animal’s breeding and keeping, the substantials of feeding with elements of feed quality
Course content: Actual status of used feed additives, their classification, content in raw feed components, mechanisms of biological action, use quide as well as the profits followed from use of them and potential danger for human and animals followed from the improper use will be presented. Also the demands related to the registration and current list of allowed additives. There the necessity of their application according to the kind and quality of feeds, used technology of feeds preparation, health status, environmetal conditions and consumers demand (meat, eggs) also will be presented.
