Learning outcomes: Knowledge: W1 – student knows the stages of primate phylogeny (with particular reference to Homo) and their method of classification [KB_W11; KB_W12] W2 - student knows and understands the reasons for modern human morphological diversity, diversity within and between populations, is characterized by human population demographics [KB_W14] W3 - student describes the stages of ontogenesis known methodologies for assessing accuracy of human development [KB_W06] W4 - student knows methods of obtaining and securing skeletal material [KB_W17] W5 - student knows the application of anthropology to other fields of science [KB_W18] Skills: U1- student is able to apply basic research techniques and skeletal material of living people, knows how to properly use the equipment for measurement studies [KB_U12] U2 - student can formulate appropriate conclusions and describe the results of the analyzes using the correct terminology, to prepare a talk or presentation [KB_U18]

Competences: Personal and social competences (attitudes and behaviors): K1 - student can responsibly and effectively, to collaborate in a group and take the responsibilities entrusted to [KB_K02] K2 - student has a responsibility and entrusted to the care of measuring equipment, and collections of bones [KB_K08]

Prerequisites:

Course content: Systematics and phylogeny of primates, the methods of classification, morphology of the primate, Homo sapiens intraspecific variation, ontogenesis and control methods for the development of children. Fundamentals of ecology of man extended to issues associated with specific (cultural) properties of human adaptation. Human biological variation, the processes of adaptation to living environment, demography. Applications of anthropology.

Assessment methods: The current rating (based on oral statements) progress and activity. The presence of the exercises is compulsory, the student may have only one unauthorized absence. Students holding a valid pass a written test practice test (25 closed questions) in the examination session. The test lasts 25 minutes. If you will fail the test the first time the student has the right to re-take it orally or in writing.
