Learning outcomes: student in time of course purchases the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to enable him understanding basic genetic rights, in range of classical genetics (mendelian), basic animal genetics: cytogenetics, immunogenetics, genetics of sex forming and it\'s disorders, embryo genetics and quantitive traits genetics. Furthermore student knows problems connected with mendelian genetics, sex linked traits, autosomal conjugated traits. Student understands genetic sense of all meiotic variation sources and can predict its heritance. Student is able to estimate mutation frequency, to reveal lethal genes, genotypes and to find and define chromosome aberrations

Competences: completion of the course makes possible to understand traits heredity mechanisms and interpretation genetic phenomena happened on molecular level, knowledge possessed during classes will allow to lead genetic analysis and work in cytogenetic laboratory

Prerequisites: zoology, chemistry, biochemistry

Course content: animals traits genetic determination, quantitative and qualitative traits inheritance and diversity, mutagene factors, classical, basic and molecular genetics, animals genome size, introduction to population genetics
