Learning outcomes: Knowledge: Student: W1 –posses knowledge on free range poultry keeping [KB2_W05]; W2 – knows abilities and roles of organization on free range poultry keeping, particularly of their functioning in country [KB2_W05]; W3 – posses knowledge related to methods of choosing and keeping of different poultry species in free range system as the reservoir of biodiversity [KB2_W06]; Skills: Student: U1 – is able to plane and organize a free range poultry management [KB2_U07]; U2 – is able to choice a proper poultry species and bred appropriate for free range keeping and to evaluate the techniques of their keeping [KB2_U07].

Competences: Personal and social competences (attitudes and behaviors): Student: K1 – indicates priorities that has to be taken into consideration when organizing the free range poultry management [KB2_K05].

Prerequisites: animal physiology, poultry breeding

Course content: Significance of free range poultry keeping, basic species and breeds o poultry kept in extensive and semi-intensive husbandry, rules of maintenance of particular species of domestic birds, buildings and their equipment, yards.

Assessment methods: Assessment methods: on the last lecture the written test. Student has to answer to ten questions. The presence on lectures is compulsory, the student may have only one unauthorized absence. Completion of the course: Completion of the course is based on the positive test grade. In case of failed completion, student has the second chance in the oral form.
