Learning outcomes: After completing the course the student will know biologically active compounds of raw animal materials and how to determine their activity. He will be able to use by-products of animal raw materials processing in biotechnological processes.

Competences: The student is prepared to use animal raw materials, their components and by-products obtained during their processing in biotechnological processes.

Prerequisites: Biochemistry, Microbiology

Course content: Chemical composition of animal raw materials: milk, eggs and meat. Bioactive substances of animal raw materials origin: enzymes, inhibitors, biopeptides. By-products of raw animal materials processing and their biotechnological utilization (whey, animal blood).
