Learning outcomes: Student has the basic knowledge of econometric modeling with one explanatory variables and be able to predict economical phenomenons based on these models. He understand problems of linear optimization as tools describing a problem of choosing optimal decisions.

Competences: Student understands econometrics in economical analysis and research. He is able to use from decision models based on mathematical programming.

Prerequisites: Mathematics, descriptive statistics and general knowledge of economics of the first level of study of economics.

Course content: Economical modeling. Classification of models. Stages of modelling. Linear regression with one explanatory variable. Estimation of linear regression by the least square method. Analysis of time series. Prediction and measures of prediction quality. Model of decision process. Linear programming. Symplex method

Recommended literature:

Assessment methods: Credit for class is based on results of two tesst, activity and attendance in class. Attendance in class is required. Credit for lecture is based on two tests from theory. To receive a credit for the course students must obtain at least half of points for class and at least half of points from the theory. The general outlay of student amounts 150-180 hours, including own work 105-135 hours.
