The course in English will be available if a minimum of 6 students sign up for a group. If less than 6 students sign up for the group, the course will be available in Polish with the possibility of individual support in English.

Learning outcomes: Knowledge: The student has knowledge of environmental management in the enterprise and the principles of ecological activities; knows the principles and assumption for the concept of sustainable development; has the concept of the environment usage cost; he knows what is the responsibilities of the entities which use the environment, knows the characteristics of preventive environmental policy and has knowledgeable about the instruments of its implementation; known standards of environmental management ISO 14001 and the EU eco-Management and audit Scheme; understand the rules ecological and product development services. Abilities: Students can prepare small enterprise environmental review and identify the significant environmental aspects; able to identify the responsibilities and legal requirements related to the economic activity, is able to develop an environmental policy in a small organization and has the ability to determine the goals and objectives of the program of environmental management in the enterprise, is able to select appropriate set of indicators for monitoring environmental management system, is able to develop the main elements of the environmental statement in accordance with the requirements of EMAS is able to identify the direct and indirect environmental aspects in the life cycle assessment of selected consumer product.

Competences: Works in the group, is aware of the social and environmental impact of business and able to set up an environmental management system, to propose appropriate preventive action.

Prerequisites:

Course content: Environmental degradation as a barrier to social and economic development. Environmental factors of quality of human life. The concept of sustainable development. Legal, organizational, economic and social aspects of environmental protection. Modern environmental management system and its organization. The costs of using the environment. Environmental Valuation and the valuation of environmental losses. The economic use of the environment and obligations for traders. Modern environmental policy and instruments of its implementation. To prevent damage to the environment. Environmental management tools in the enterprise. Strategy "Cleaner Production". Environmental management according to ISO 14001. EU Eco-Management and Audit EMAS. Greening shaping the product. Best practices.
