Learning outcomes: The student knows the basic concepts and categories of the market and the operating principles of the company. He is able to analyze and evaluate the economic phenomenons in the macroeconomic scale, in particularly the role of money in the economy.

Competences: After completing the course the student is able to conduct his own economic activities and take up work in all economic-financial departments of a company.

Prerequisites: Mathematics with elements of statistics and information science

Course content: Economics as science. Market and division of markets. Mechanism of the market economy. Forms of the market and competition systems. Demand and supply. Market balance. Flexibility of demand (price, income and mixed flexibility). Flexibility of supply. Analysis of the costs of production. Benefits from the economic activities. The essence and types of securities. Market of securities. The problem of evaluating the financial results of the national economy. The problems of unemployment and inflation. The essence and functions of money. The organization and functioning of banks.
