Learning outcomes: Student knows fundamentals of kinematic and dynamic functioning of mechanisms and machines. Student is able to determine forces for moving machine units, including the friction in kinematic pairs.

Competences: Student can analyze functioning of chosen machines: determine types and range of hardware movement, can state velocity and acceleration of segments and specific points, can define static and dynamic loadability of segments.

Prerequisites: Physics, Mathematics.

Course content: Structure of mechanisms, kinematic analysis of flat systems: position and trajectory, velocity and acceleration, rackworks and cam mechanisms. Dynamic analysis of system: forces and inertial forces. Kinetostatics of mechanisms: statically determinable groups and force analysis in those groups, balance of active segment. Friction in kinematic pairs.
