Learning outcomes: Acquaint Students with constructional processes. Preparation of Students to self-contained resolve a simple technical tasks.

Course content: Design process. Algorithmic and heuristic methods of searching of solution technical tasks. Criteria and methods of conception rating. Principles of design. Fundamental criteria for a product. Safety principles in design of machine. Joints in mechanical engineering: bolted connections, swivel joints, pins and pin joints, shaft-hub connections (keys, splined connections, serrated joints, press fits), welded joints, glued joints – fundamentals of selection and methods for the calculations.
