Learning outcomes: Knowledge: The student has knowledge of physics, suitable for the direction of study. Has general knowledge of phenomena and processes occurring in the biosphere, suitable for the direction of study. Has basic knowledge of the agents and possibilities of environmental planning, suitable for the direction of study. Has knowledge of basic techniques, methods, tools and measuring instruments that allow to control and monitor changes occurring in the environment. Skills: Is able to search, understand and make use of information from the field of physics, in order to describe phenomena and processes occurring in the environment. Is able to communicate precisely using physical quantities and their measurement units. Under supervision, he can do simple research using various measurement techniques. Can identify and analyze, with standard methods, the phenomena under study. Can formulate reports on research performed and present the results in the form of tables and graphs.

Competences: Is able to work in groups. Is able to set priorities and timetables for achieving specific objectives. Is aware of the need for further education and self-development in the realm of fundamental sciences.

Prerequisites:

Course content: Fundamentals of classical mechanics ,mechanics of fluids, oscillations, waves, elements of modern physics, elements of nuclear physics, the kinetic theory of gases, thermodynamic lows.

Recommended literature: 1. Podstawy fizyki. David Halliday, Robert Resnick, Jearl Walker. 2. Fizyka. Robert Resnick, David Halliday. 3. Elementy fizyki, biofizyki i agrofizyki. Stanisław Przestalski. 4. Laboratorium fizyki, biofizyki i agrofizyki. Praca zbiorowa pod redakcją Haliny Kleszczyńskiej, Mieczyslawa Kiliana i Janiny Kuczery.

Assessment methods: Obligatory: credits for laboratory training, written exams (possibly tests) and oral/written exam as a retake. Pass at minimum 60% of the knowledge.
