Learning outcomes: The student in the time of course gains as well as practical skill theoretical knowledge enabling correct defining of breeding goal, choice of breeding strategy, analysis of genes’ flow, constructing and optimization of breeding programmes, comparison of conventional and alternative breeding programmes, use of reproduction biotechnology in breeding work, use genetic markers in selection, estimation of biological and economic effectivity in different selective patern.
Competences: Completion of course enables work in insemination stations, animals\' breeders unions and in national breeding supervision
Prerequisites:
Course content: Definition of breeding goal, criterions of breeding strategy choice based on use of different sources of genetic variability, method of genes flow in the population, statistical and biological methods of constructing the breeding programmes, economic effectivity of improvement, optimization of breeding programmes in biological and economic categories , biotechnology in breeding, use of genetic markers, genetic gain import, improvement as investment phenomenon of population.
