Learning outcomes: A student gains essentials of the international trade theory. He understands basic processes occurring in an international economy.

Competences: A student is capable of determining factors influencing the international competitiveness of a country. He is also able to establish the relationship between production factors equipment of the country and economic development of the country.

Prerequisites: Microeconomics, macroeconomics

Course content: Classic and neoclassic international trade theory. Profit division in the international exchange .Terms of trade index. Heckscher-Ohlin theorem. Stopler-Samuelson theorem. Economies of scale and inter-industry trade. Economic growth and international trading. Rybczynski theorem. International flows of production factors.

Assessment methods: Classes: developing of a case study – 25%, test - 75%.Lectures: test exam – minimum of knowledge to pass – 60%.
