Learning outcomes: Knowledge: In the first semester student obtains knowledge and skills in the field of principals of technique, materials applied in machines and equipment for food industry, basic calculations in technical mechanics and strength of materials, elements of machines, electrotechnics, measuring devices. Skills: Student can chose machines in food industry, such as pumps, fans, compressors, electric engines and others in different technologies in relation with their application and economical principles.

Competences: Social skills (attitude): The student shows an attitude in the selection of machines equipment and installations in food industry in relation machine-food, shows the conscience of the fact, that apply of technical installations could have an influence of quality and safety of food and attendance of machines, shows the conscience of economical effect of the application of different materials and machines.

Prerequisites: mathematics, physics

Course content: Basic knowledge in material science, technical mechanics, elements of machines, electronics, pumps, fans, compressors, electric engines.
