Learning outcomes: Knows the types of shots surface water and groundwater. Identifies the objects included in the municipal and industrial water supply systems and sewage disposal; recognize objects belonging to the water and sewage systems in terms of the system, understands the need to control the quantity and quality of water grasped and drained to the plant; understands the relationship between states of water in the river and efficiency of work of water supply and sewage systems. understands the need to build alternative sources of water for fire protection; identifies the types of sewer systems; knows the types of reservoirs in the sewage system and storm and its impact on water which provides with sewerage system area; identifies the technological system and wastewater treatment industry. knows the principles of design and construction of water supply and sewerage; understands the importance of making Sankey’s diagrams for water and wastewater industries, familiar element components included in the CIP. Able to develop conceptual design surface water intakes; know how to plan and design of water supply and sewerage; knows the rules of sewer design and distribution; able to identify measures to improve the water and wastewater management in industrial plants, can solve the problems in the field of stormwater drainage from agricultural land and urban areas, are knowledgeable about the removal of nutrient pollutants from municipal wastewater. familiar elements of critical infrastructure.

Competences: Demonstrates understanding of the needs for modernization and development of water and sanitation systems in order to increase the comfort of living of the population and reduce the impact of waste on the environment; expected impacts of various elements of the technical infrastructure in critical situations.

Prerequisites: meteorology and climatology, hydrology, water law and administration, plumbing

Course content: Underground water and surface water. Balance of demand for water. Distribution of water supply systems due to their structure. Fire water supply. The types of sewer systems. Design principles and construction of water and sewage networks. Determining the amount of rain water fed into drains or gravity. Technological systems for cleaning domestic wastewater, waste and rainwater. Design of storm overflows and reservoirs for rainwater and gravity. Flow regulators. Critical infrastructure.
